Pet lovers throughout the Town are preening their beloved animals in preparation for the Town of Kwinana’s upcoming annual PETscapade event this weekend.
The free community celebration will be held at The Village at Wellard on the Village Green adjacent to Peter Carnley Anglican Community School on Sunday 13 November between 10am and 3pm.
A two kilometer Healthy Lifestyles animal walk will begin the festivities with participants and their pets invited to congregate at the stage, ready for a 10am departure. The procession will then tour the oval and the beautiful landscaped parkland surrounds in an animal oriented display of health, wellbeing and responsible pet ownership.
Following the walk an array of fun animal antics will get underway with a selection of stall holders offering pet related products and services, entertainment in the form of animal rides, demonstrations and children’s activities as well as light hearted competitions such as Best Dressed Pet, Owner Pet Lookalike and Most Unusual Pet to keep attendees and their furry guests busy.
Locals can also take advantage of event day specials such as a discounted micro chipping service offered by Kwinana Vet Clinic.
Friendly animals of all shapes and sizes are welcome and those who don’t live within walking distance will find a temporary parking area at the nearby Pimlico Gardens, The Village at Wellard, only a short stroll from the main event.
The 2011 PETScapade, The Village at Wellard is a Town of Kwinana initiative and is proudly sponsored by The Village at Wellard, and IAMS Dog & Cat Foods.
