The Town of Kwinana has announced imminent changes to waste collection boundaries which will result in new weekly and fortnightly collection days for almost half of Kwinana residents.

The changes will commence from 31 July and will come fully into effect on Monday 6 August. The changes are necessary to accommodate the rapidly growing Kwinana population and ensure waste services remain sustainable over the coming years.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams encouraged residents to study the new boundaries and ensure they were confident of their collection days.

“Residents should make sure they are clear about when their green and yellow top bins will be collected once the new system commences from 31 July,” Mayor Adams said.

“The information and maps can be confusing to interpret so residents are also welcome to call the contractor for clarification.”

Mayor Adams said the changes were a sign of Kwinana’s sustained growth and were necessary to ensure efficient service delivery into the future.

“The Town of Kwinana has worked closely with our contractor to remodel the waste collection boundaries and ensure services continue to run smoothly for many years to come.”

By now all residents should have received a detailed brochure in the post outlining the changes in full. Comprehensive maps which outline which residents will be affected and what their new collection days will be can also be viewed below:
