Town of Kwinana Youth Services are searching for new mentors to help change the lives of young people in Kwinana.
The Youth Mentoring program matches young people with older mentors who nurture personal and professional development.
In 2010 the program saw two of its initial matches reach the 12 month milestone.
Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the mentoring program was beneficial to the progression of Kwinana youth.
“Programs like this one as well as the award winning LyriK initiative provide so much benefit to young people and I encourage anyone who meets the criteria to get involved,” Mayor Adams said.
In addition to older mentors, young people in Kwinana aged between 10 and 18 are also heavily encouraged to get involved with the program if they feel they could benefit from being matched.
Applications close May 27, 2011.
