On February 14 the Kwinana Public Library and its patrons will forget about Valentines Day in favour of the much more important Library Lovers Day.
Library Lovers Day is a national program which promotes the love that residents have for their libraries and showcases just how important library and information facilities are to a community.

The Kwinana Library is encouraging residents to come down and fill out a ‘red heart’ which asks the writer to expand on the phrase “I love my library because. . .”.
All entries will go on display, accompanying the top voted books which will also be voted on during the Library Lovers Day next week.
Those who submit a ‘red heart’ or vote for their favourite book will go into the draw to win a Library Lovers Day prize which includes chocolates and a collection of Australian short stories. Door prizes will also be on offer.
The Kwinana Library Lovers Day is run in conjunction with the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
