With the cost of living steadily on the rise and showing no sign of changing in the near future, residents nation wide are finding it difficult to keep up with the extra expenses.

However, between 23 August and 27 September 2011, Kwinana residents are being offered the opportunity to learn the secret to getting on top of those household bills.

Living Smart is an award-winning course which combines ways to live a healthier, happier life, save money and reduce your footprint on the environment. The free six week course will provide Kwinana residents with relevant local information to make a difference in their lifestyle immediately.

The course will be held weekly at the Kwinana Recquatic between 7 and 9pm and offers people in the community the chance to learn how to save money on energy, water and gas bills, manage their waste, live happier lifestyles and much more.

Mayor Carol Adams gives the initiative the thumbs up, stating that the course is an excellent chance for residents to learn some tricks of the trade which will assist them in keeping up with the increasing cost of living.

“Communities around the state and nation wide are beginning to feel the pinch with the continuous increases on daily household bills such as water and gas,” she says. “Living Smart is an excellent initiative. Every little bit helps when it comes to saving money on bills, and you cannot put a price on having a happier, more environmentally conscious lifestyle.”

Living Smart has been brought to Kwinana through a partnership between the SMRC and the Town of Kwinana under the Regional Community Greenhouse Gas Abatement Project.
