The Kwinana Recquatic Centre will play host this weekend to the only WA participant in a world record attempt by the International Rotary Club.
The Kwinana Rotary Club will represent WA this Saturday 25 February in the Rotary Global Swimarathon event which aims to break the world record for the most people swimming at the same time, anywhere in the world.
Nationally, 11 Rotary Clubs of Australia will take part, joining 100 clubs from across the globe. The event is open to the public at $10 per person, with all proceeds from the record breaking attempt going to the Rotary International Polio campaign to ‘End Polio Now’.
The attempt is scheduled to take place between 7pm and 10pm, allowing participants from around the world to swim concurrently. For the World Record attempt to stand, participants are required to swim 100m without stopping within the hour.
The Kwinana Recquatic is located at the Corner of Gilmore and Chisham Avenues, Kwinana. For further information, contact James Sharkey from the Rotary Club of Kwinana on 9592 4987.
