Town of Kwinana residents are going green next month with a community clean up day on 4 March to coincide with the nation’s annual Clean Up Australia Day.
Residents, in conjunction with the Town of Kwinana’s coastal and bush care teams will do their bit by clearing the Kwinana coastline and bushland of the unattractive and potentially harmful debris.
There will be numerous coordinated clean up sites throughout the Town to choose from, including Kwinana Beach, the Rotary Wildflower Reserve, Homestead Ridge and the Wandi area.
Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams encouraged the local community to get involved, "This is the perfect chance for residents to show their passion for the unique beauty of our local coastal and bushland environment while supporting a very worthwhile national cause."
"Not only will they get the opportunity to mingle with fellow locals, but can also feel proud in the knowledge that they have contributed to Australia’s biggest community designed environmental program." Cr Adams said.
Participants are reminded to wear enclosed footwear, a hat and to bring along a bottle of drinking water.
