The eighth edition of the popular youth magazine, Konnect has recently been released to coincide with the latest LyriK Award nominations.
Created by young people for young people, the Konnect magazine is published three times a year and is part of the Town of Kwinana’s LYRIK program. The content is written and compiled by the Junior Media Group, and other local students. The aim of the publication is to recognise and celebrate the achievements and positive contributions of young people throughout Kwinana while providing a functional communication resource with which to discuss information regarding important youth related issues.
This edition makes for an interesting read with features ranging from fictional stories to fascinating facts, as well as the usual fun selection of puzzles and jokes. Also included is a run down on this year’s Freakfest activities complete with a themed poster pull-out.
Always eager to see more youth involvement in the publication, the Town of Kwinana is urging all local young people to submit written pieces or artwork for consideration.
Konnect magazine can be found at various shops and organisations around the Town, and is available at local schools. For further information, including submissions for the next edition, or information on signing up for the Junior Media Group contact the Kwinana Youth Services Team on 9439 0274.
