The Town of Kwinana and Beyond Gardens will be presenting a free seminar to the community highlighting waterwise gardening practices that are suited to Western Australian climatic conditions.

Held at Koorliny Arts Centre on Wednesday 23 November 2011, the seminar will run for three and a half hours beginning at 6pm, and will be presented by passionate professionals who will highlight unsustainable gardening practices and dispel many gardening myths, replacing them with practical techniques.

Residents can be assured that there will be no sales component to the seminar and as no sponsorship is provided by product manufacturers, gardening advice will be unbiased.

Suited to beginners and seasoned gardeners alike, the presentation will include an audio visual element and will cover subjects such as environmental consequences of current gardening practices, understanding and improving local soils, nutrients, recycling for a healthier garden, mulching, choosing the right plants for your garden, garden design, irrigation, greywater/rainwater tanks and gardening myths.

Bookings are essential. For further information and to reserve your seat, visit www.beyondgardens.com.au.
