The Town of Kwinana recently launched I’M ALERT, a FREE online food safety training program available to anyone who handles food regularly in their day-to-day lives.
The program, launched earlier this month, presents information in an interactive and easy to follow format and those who complete the program in full can print of a certificate acknowledging their new skills.
The I’M ALERT training program is designed to assist any and all food handlers in improving their skills and knowledge in food safety and hygiene.
Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams said the council was committed to accommodating skill-building in Kwinana residents, especially when it came to safety and wellbeing.
“It’s important for us to identify and introduce programs which the whole community can benefit from,” Mayor Adams said.
“The I’M ALERT food safety training program will mean more hygienic food handling and that will transfer into a more healthy community in the long term by reducing the risk of food borne illnesses.”
All food handlers and managers of food handling establishments in Kwinana are encouraged to access the free course which would otherwise incur training fees.
Free and unlimited access is now available at www.kwinana.imalert.com.au
