Festival fun hits Kwinana!

    The Town of Kwinana’s Festival Fair Day & Concert is set to take place Saturday 22 October. Now in its 57th year the renowned local occasion has become the single biggest community event in Kwinana, attracting an enormous crowd of over 10,000 revelers each year.

    Featuring over 80 stallholders, displays and activities, as well as an array of free rides and entertainment, the celebration marks the peak of the Town of Kwinana’s Live! series of events for 2011. Other events in this series include last week’s Alcoa Children’s Party, the popular youth event, Freakfest, held alongside the Festival on 22 October and the unique animal oriented PETScapade, the Village at Wellard on 13 November.

    This year’s festivities will commence at 10am with an inspiring parade of community floats leading the way to an extravaganza of rides and stalls. Packed with fun, the day will offer partygoers a back to back line up of entertaining stage performances and demonstrations, as well as a diverse selection of variety stalls and entertainment for young and old.

    The daytime activities are scheduled to wind up at 3pm, however at 6.30pm all will be welcomed back for a family night under the stars at the 2011 Concert. For all the music lovers, an explosion of local talent will take to the stage to light up the night with a mottled assortment of enticing melody. From exclusive originals to classic tributes there will be something to suit all musical tastes.

    The Festival Fair Day & Concert for 2011 will conclude at 10pm with an impressive fireworks display.
