Construction of the Bertram Road Dual Carriageway is underway, with RJ Vincent working together with Town of Kwinana to complete the project by early December.

As one of the main arterials off the Kwinana Freeway, the expansion of Bertram Road to Challenger Avenue will allow for an increase in traffic volumes distributing onto Gilmore Avenue and Rockingham Road, minimising congestion and increasing accessibility.

The $4.46 million project has been funded through a $3,166,668 Urban Road Grant received by the Metropolitan Regional Roads Group and Developer Contributions received by the Town.

Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams is pleased to see the project come into fruition after many years of planning.

“As a hyper growth area it is important that we are one step ahead, ensuring that our roads continue to accommodate for the thousands of drivers that use them each day to travel to our community and surrounds”.

“It is also important that our resident’s accessibility to facilities and services are not effected by this growth, with the carriageway ensuring that residents of Bertram and Wellard will continue to access Bertram Road with ease”, Mayor Adams concluded.
