The Town of Kwinana is calling on young people to help design an entry for the 2011 Banners in the Terrace competition.

The Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) Banners in the Terrace competition allows local councils to showcase what makes their community a great place to live and young people in Kwinana are being encouraged to use their imagination and creativity to illustrate this for the Town of Kwinana.

The competition is open to primary and high school students in Kwinana and the only requirement is that you use an A3 piece of paper or card and whatever art supplies you want to demonstrate what you love about Kwinana.

The winning entry will be used as the base design for the Town of Kwinana’s entry into this year’s competition and will be displayed on St Georges Terrace in Perth City in July and August.

The winning entrant will also receive a $150 gift voucher for Jacksons art supplies.

Entries can be dropped off at Council administration (Cnr Gilmore Ave and Sulphur Rd) or handed into your school’s art teacher.

For further information call the Art Officer on 9439 0203.

    Entries close April 1.
