The Town of Kwinana’s Healthy Lifestyles team are inviting the kids of Kwinana to visit the Village Markets at Wellard on Sunday 5 February, to ‘Have a go’ at the numerous different sports on offer around town.
Local sporting clubs will join the range of market stalls from 9am until 1pm, offering children and their parents the chance to explore the different games and activities available to them. Families can browse the club stalls and chat directly to organisers while there.
Town of Kwinana Mayor, Carol Adams, is positive about the concept, "The Winter Club Open Day and Have a Go Day is a fantastic opportunity for children to actually experience the sport on offer without first signing up, only to discover the particular sport is not to the child’s taste."
"It is hoped that by ensuring a good match between the youth and the chosen activity, it will support a long term and positive relationship between the child and the healthy and active lifestyle encouraged by the club" Mayor Adams said.
Children who register with a club on the day will go into the draw to win payment of the first season’s club fees.
