About the Kwinana Volunteer Centre
The Kwinana Volunteer Centre is a central point in the community for information on all things relating to volunteering.

Many local groups and organisations rely on the goodwill and generosity of volunteers to help them. By lending a hand, for just a short time, you can make a huge difference to the quality of other people's lives.

Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is a great way to build on your life skills, and is also a fun way to meet new people. The benefits of volunteering cannot be underestimated.

Through volunteering you can:
  • Try something different
  • Share your knowledge & skills
  • Learn new skills
  • Be more positive
  • Learn about, and become part of your community
  • Access training
  • Improve you sense of self worth
There are a wide and diverse range of volunteering roles that can keep you busy for as little as half an hour per week to daily positions – however much time you can spare!

To find out more about volunteering, call our Volunteer Coordinator on 9419 1628 or email volunteering@kwinana.wa.gov.au

Rights & Responsibilities
Unlike paid staff, volunteers are not covered by award or work place agreements. Volunteers however have rights, some that are through legislation, and some of which could be considered the moral obligations of an organisation involving volunteers. Volunteering Australia promotes the following as the basic rights of a volunteer.
