A Building Licence is required to be obtained before building work commences regardless of the type of work to be carried out i.e: housing, commercial or industrial developments, garages, carports, roofed and unroofed patios, garden sheds or spas/swimming pools etc.
To obtain a Building Licence it is necessary to submit two copies of detailed plans and specifications together with a Standard Application Form. Forms are available from Administration front counter or can be downloaded below.
New dwelling and extensions are now required to comply with the new Energy Efficiency Provisions contained in the Building Codes of Australia (BCA). Please refer to the Energy Efficiency section of this site for more information.
A Demolition Licence is required prior to the commencement of demolition for all housing, commercial and industrial developments, garages and carports and other significant structures.

A Sign Licence is necessary prior to the erection of a sign other than some exempt signs as described in the Local Law.
To obtain a Sign Licence it is necessary to submit to the Town's Building Department two copies of sign construction, sign writing and the proposed location of the sign on the site together with a Standard Application Form. Forms are available from Administration front counter or can be downloaded.
