Arts and Culture

Blues and Roots Festival The Town of Kwinana values Arts and Culture as an integral aspect of community life.

Creativity in all its forms, from music to theatre is an important way for people from all walks of life to communicate with each other and the wider community.

Each year a range of activities are presented for the community to enjoy, from family concerts at the Kwinana Federation Amphitheatre, photography exhibitions, dance festivals, theatre performances and workshops, school and nature based activities.

Kwinana proudly acknowledges its indigenous culture and heritage and embraces cultural diversity. This diversity has led to exciting expressions of art forms from all over the world. Our local artists, dancers and musicians have a growing prominence within the community. The development of our artists and the provision of opportunities for them to develop their talents and gain employment is a priority for the Arts and Culture portfolio.

Many community groups, local artists and organisations make appointments to discuss the cultural projects, how to plan for them, how to source funding, develop partnerships and marketing plans and you are welcome to do this also.

Kwinana is entering into a very significant growth phase and more people will be looking for high quality cultural experiences in their local area without having to travel great distances. The Town of Kwinana is committed to working with the community members to bring a spirit of creativity, innovation and collaboration to your town.
