The City of Kwinana, Kwinana Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Bank and Kwinana Community Chest have joined forces to offer an improved funding program to community organisations in Kwinana. The new Kwinana Community Funding Program will give community organisations the opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 funding to support local projects.
City of Kwinana Mayor Carol Adams and Chair of the Kwinana Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Bank John Iriks said the new program would provide the opportunity to fund larger community projects.
“We are excited to offer more support to community groups through this improved funding program. By pooling the resources of three organisations into one program we can offer a more streamlined process, making it easier for community groups to access funding”, they said.
The Kwinana Community Funding Program aims to encourage local community organisations to engage in capacity building and community engagement projects such as running events, groups, art projects, workshops and training courses. Groups can also apply for funding for minor equipment such as sporting equipment, gardening tools, furniture or trailers.
The first round of Kwinana Community Funding will open on 1 October 2017 and close on 31 October 2017. A grants assessment and approval process will be undertaken by a Panel made up of 2 representatives from each organization.
