Kwinana: More to offer than affordable housing

The Town of Kwinana has been labelled Perth's only affordable area, but afforable living isn't the only thing on offer in Kwinana, according to Mayor Carol Adams. . .

Kwinana is growing at twice the national average and is now considered Perth’s most viable living area for families and young couples, following a report on the WA housing market by AMP.

Mayor Carol Adams said the area was undergoing historical changes totaling hundreds of millions of dollars and transforming the area into a bustling metropolitan destination.

“People who live in Kwinana aren’t settling for Kwinana, many are making the conscious decision to live in Perth’s most welcoming and friendly community, an area surrounded by an abundance of natural bush and wet lands and an area overflowing with community spirit,” Mayor Adams said.

Kwinana is fast becoming Perth’s most attractive option for families, with a range of services already available, as well as massive investment into new facilities such as the $22m Community Resource and Knowledge Centre, $7.5m Youth Space and two new community centres in Wellard and Bertram. Kwinana is also home to two separate train stations.

The $340million revitalisation of the Kwinana Town Centre will act as a catalyst for stimulating commercial growth in the area, resulting in even more specialty stores, restaurants and cafés being introduced to the area.

“Kwinana is one of the most misunderstood and severely underrated areas in all of Perth and I invite anyone who thinks otherwise to venture into our community and experience the diversity of our suburbs, the excitement within our Town Centre and the wonderful residents who choose to call Kwinana home,” Mayor Adams concluded.

The median house price in Kwinana is $332,000.

House and land packages are now available at several private estates in areas such as Wandi, Wellard and Bertram as well as developments such as Nicheliving Kwinana in the heart of the City Centre.
